CHAPTER 3: FREE FALL 2026

FreeFall: end of story, you’re done, you’ve stepped off the 70 story building. Next stop is the sidewalk. Nothing you can do. You’ve lost control of your life, no decision left for you to make.

Done as large and in charge. The last step, the last decision, shoved you off the top of the building. You thought everything you were doing would help, the hail Mary pass, the savior move. You had it all figured out. The plan betrayed you and threw you into oblivion, falling, an unstoppable missile, straight shot into the sidewalk, complete loss.

What started as building your life, is ending. And all the way down you get to think about every floor you leave behind, every decision. What threw you off?

The mastery of the enemy’s plot to systematically unpick God day by day, decision by decision, until your conscience does not know the difference between correct and incorrect. The story of the human race.

Failure is an equal opportunity employer, believer, non-believer, martian, democrat, republican, independent, you or me. Left unchecked, enough mistakes will, in fact, lead to, catastrophic failure i.e.“freefall.” No taking back, it’s too late. As the breeze touches my face, and my life choices are going by at a blinding speed, the ground floor quickly approaching. It’s over. Time to pray? Well, in a free fall you suddenly have a little extra time to spend with Jesus.

PSALM 68:20 Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.

As your falling, you hope for that, you plead in prayers, promise Him you’ll make changes — all this in the seconds before the inevitable. And then He does it. All of you, saved, by the hand of God. All of you, me included. Better think about that.

This didn’t happen overnight. Right? Jobs didn’t go negative by themselves, loans weren’t taken by elves in the middle of the night, money schemes and purchases through the company were not devised by ghosts on the property, and prayers asking God to co-sign our nonsense. Did any of it save the day? No, it never does.

Jeremiah 14:3 Her nobles send their servants for water;
they come to the cisterns; they find no water;
they return with their vessels empty;
they are ashamed and confounded and cover their heads.

You see, stupid requires commitment. Doesn’t happen over-night, it’s cultivated. It requires, sometimes, for me to act smart, even when I’m not. To impersonate reason, when reason has no part in it whatsoever. An idiot in the robes of a scholar.

2 Timothy 3:7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

For believers it is all in the name of God, which it is not, and for non-believers it is all in the name of whatever they have decided, for that matter believers could and do the exact same thing as any atheists. A sense of know-it-all, without knowing anything at all. Both of them falling sadly short of righteous.

Proverbs 24:16 for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again,  but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

Do you have another chance at righteous? All of you on this phone today, have been given another chance at a righteous option. God saved you from the fall. Best you remember flying into the end of your dreams, at first there might be a terror and then perhaps euphoria, a sensation that you’re out of control so maybe some hand of fate is controlling for the good, a light cool breeze, a great view and perhaps even the sensation of flying not falling. Needless to say, none of that is true. I’m telling you, I didn’t jump off of that building. I got thrown off.

1 Corinthians 3:11  For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

There it is. I laid the foundation for the fall, not the master. How many times did God try to move me away from the edge? When enough was never enough, over and over and over and over again!”

How many times did I use God’s name as my co-conspirator in a wave of shenanigans that were not worthy of His name or the stupid prayers I asked for, disrespectful of what had been given, and an inflated sense of self importance.

Do people survive freefall? Don’t think about that, think about this. You did. The very hand of God stopped your slam into the cement. Here’s good personal daily thought.

“What just happened, what have I done, and I must never do that again, Lord be with me, never leave me, I am truly sorry for my arrogance, insolence.”

Philippians 4:12 I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

What dark force through me into a freefall? A spirit I tend to believe? What kind of spirit you might ask?

#1) Fear of not having enough. More is never enough.

#2) Unteachable, stubborn and directed entirely by self worth.

#3) False Discernment, incorrect ideal of God.

Repeat those things about seventy times seventy times. You were saved from that, every one of you, including me. You want to take that flight again? Want to test freefall one more time? I don’t. Wake up. Let me say it again. Wake up.

Proverbs 4:7-9 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get[a] wisdom.
Though it cost all you have,[b] get understanding.

All of us will be tested again, the same challenges we failed before, we will face again. How will you fare at the crossroads this time? The Lord will bring you and me to that very same place. The question is will the same decisions throw me off that proverbial building? What to pray requests keep me from the roof? First, know the game.

Here’s the game: Humility, wisdom, knowledge, understanding vs stupid.

Proverbs 2:6 All wisdom comes from the Lord,
and so do common sense and understanding. God gives helpful advice to everyone who obeys him and protects those who live as they should. God sees that justice is done, and he watches over everyone who is faithful to him.

There it is. God vs stupid. Why does stupid look good? How can it look good when compared to that? Revelation 12:9 describes him as the “serpent of old” who “deceives the whole world”. Who him? The devil, the opposer, the liar, he has many names, all of them the same, your enemy, my enemy and the captain of failure. He makes stupid profitable, for about ten seconds, and that’s all it takes to fool the whole world including you and me. Solution: how many times do I have to say it?

James 1:22-25 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Or don’t read scripture, don’t listen to scripture, don’t live with it, live without it, or with your version of it, other self help books and pamphlets, helpful feel good belief systems that have plagued the world for centuries.

Breath in a portion of delusion, disappointment, disdain, disturbance, destruction, debilitation, doubt, deceit, division, dissension, distrust, it’s all freely given for those who are smarter than the dark spirit of freefall.

On the other side of the coin is the Word of God, the bible written thousands of years ago, the exact text found in the dead sea scrolls between 1946 and 1956, if you look into that there is absolute truth, comfort, direction, correction, safety, wisdom, love, destiny…, the Original Blueprint of humanity and the opposite of Free Fall, the opposite of chaos. Is it easier than stupid? You tell me.

In the text of the bible, most importantly, there is Christ, the one true Messiah, redeemer, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. The one who saved you from sin and death. His way is not the easy way, it is the truth, no lies, no concepts, Truth. Period. That’s why nobody wants to do it.

Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Nobody willingly jumps to the suicide of their company. No, it’s more insidious than that. It’s a conscious-unconscious, step at a time, closer to the edge until at last, you’ve lost choice, somebody or some-thing shoves you off the edge.

Was it the hard money lender, cash advance, your choices to over incumber the business in debt, run accounting with your friends instead of qualified professionals, an incorrect sense of who God is and what He expects from you, did you make a deal with God and not let Him in on the deal you made? Were you incorrect about what God had anointed you to do? Was His signature on that order or a different signature? Did the devil make you do it? Whatever or whoever it is that threw you off that proverbial building, it wasn’t God and it wasn’t you.

Perhaps a gust of wind?
From where?

What, were you doing on the roof that close to the edge? It doesn’t matter, not anymore. What matters is that it did happen and you were saved from it. Could it happen again? Yes.

Know “it,” understand “it,” respect “it,”
stay away from the “it” that lives on the roof.
