Chapter 40 “The Price of Pettiness” 2026

This week's chapter from Patrick:

Why should I listen to this chapter?

CHAPTER 40: THE PRICE OF PETTINESS 2026

What is pettiness? Deceitful information planted in between the good crops, undermining the troops, delivering disparaging information meant to destroy relationships.

Matthew 13:24-43 24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

Pettiness is vile, evil and lethal. Without God, none are a match for this devil. It is diabolical, sinister, not to be toyed with, entertained or underestimated. It is a drop of cyanide! Treachery by design, the worst horror movie or this time it’s real.

Proverbs 14:30: “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones”.

2 Timothy 2:14, Paul instructs Timothy to “keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.”

A divider, you cannot reason with it, or manipulate it. It owns those who use it against others. Only God can free those taken captive. Keep that in mind, you bite, the poison is in you and only God can get it out.

2 Timothy 2:-26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

After many years of rebuilding businesses, I’ve seen petty destroy what could have been. Dissension and division strangle those who believe it. When does it finally ruin me before I realize what is happening, what has happened? Unfortunately, at this point, it would seem, it’s too late. Only God can undo what has happened. I call it the three D’s. Division, Dissension and ultimately Deliverance. Petty causes division and dissension, only God can Deliver us from it. Why, because without God, stricken by the poison of petty, the point being made by petty is absolutely unteachable, unchangeable, unmanageable. Captured by it, destiny is lost, next stop “nowhereville.”

Pre-meditated, planned petty is, a violation of God’s Holy precepts, a quiet, sinister design of disingenuous compliments, deception, arrogance, supremacy, judgement, disdain and tragedy.

Psalm 36:3 The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.

I’m not exactly a fan of the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. He was around in the 1800’s however I did find a quote on Pettiness in one of his books that fits perfectly. “Thus Spoke Zarathustra: A Book for All and None”, is the name of the book.

“But like infection is the petty thought: it creeps and hides, and wants to be nowhere–until the whole body is decayed and withered by the petty infection… Thus spoke Zarathustra.”

Whether it be you, or others in your life, be aware of chapter 40, the price of pettiness. What is The Price of Pettiness: LOSING. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, sometimes everything.

James 3:16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

Petty is the doorway to revenge and revenge is the end of all good things. Pettiness and Revenge will absolutely destroy the host and in doing so dismantle the target. If the target of pettiness is quick, aware and in the spirit of God, the game ends with minimal loss, if not, it could be catastrophic. What is the solution? Don’t play the game. Get out, identify the problem, see it, take it to Jesus and then get away from it, and stay away from it.

Definition of Pettiness – Undue concern with trivial matters,
especially of a small-minded or spiteful nature.
Envy, comparison, jealous, self-righteous, pompous, and as stated — stupid and costly, the opposite of Wisdom, Grace, Mercy, Love.

I have seen so many good people interrupted. Never realizing what they’ve done, until it’s too late. Pointless conversations, wasted moments on irrelevant points of view, it happens too much. Deception is rampant, petty is the tool that blocks, faith, destiny, talent, and potential. Without guidance in the Holy Spirit, chances of succeeding against such a formidable opponent are virtually zero.

Colossians 2:8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers[a] of this world, rather than from Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Fortitude in your walk, dedication to a righteous life, God’s Divine plan in all of us. Set down the doctrine of demons, treacherous, skeptical voices in the shadows, poisoning the mind against all that is good, idolizing fear, terror, deception, lies. Capitalizing on jealousy, resentment, envy and destructiveness. Where is God in all this? He is in the Word, and inside of You.

Romans 8:37-39 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I’ve witnessed it every year, people do better, little by little back into a path that God has prepared for them.

John 14:6 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Revelation 1:17-18 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying [a]to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of [b]Hades and of Death. The Price of Pettiness? Jesus, sadly becomes a myth and pettiness my gate keeper for all time.

Proverbs 6:14-15  who plots evil with deceit in his heart, he always stirs up conflict. Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.

What is the solution, step by step, when I am embroiled in such madness? When it surrounds me and I feel it overtaking me? Look into the midst of it, realize what will happen if the game succeeds. It is Jumanji, and there is little room for escape. Realize that what is happening either because of you or in front of you, is not you, it is impersonating you and call to the Lord. Is that enough, it must be, however in this game, the game warden will inform you, that you are in God’s will and to proceed. That is a lie, pray the Holy Spirit give you eyes to see and ears to hear, discernment of those things that are evil. Otherwise where will you be? Again, what is the solution?

1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Fellowship, discernment in the spirit, where to spend your time. Stupid is very expensive and stupid information is detrimental to all forward moving Godly thinking. If stupid be your higher power then what, prey tell would be the spirit, well let me answer that, if stupid be your master, petty be your spirit.

What is it, that saves us from this dastardly menace? Grace. The same Grace that saves us from all evil. Used in the New Testament 155 times it speaks of divine favor, given to under deserving people like you and me, Divine favor flowing down from God that has power, it is favor with power, it is powerful transforming favor, it is favor that saves, favor that keeps, favor that delivers, favor than enables, that sanctifies, that comforts, that glorifies, Grace is not an inert deposit it is divine power overruling all that is evil and debilitating, and for the believer it is a constant flow. The Bible speaks of the surpassing riches of His grace, it tells us that Jesus is full of grace, He lavishes us in Grace, there is this unceasing flow of divine favor pouring into our lives as Believers, to save us, keep us, deliver us, enable us, sanctify us, comfort us, glorify us ultimately Ephesians 2:7 refers to it as the surpassing riches of His grace of Jesus it was said in John 1:14, He was full of grace and we are in Him.

Matthew 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.

Pray for the strength and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, and take care of the people, places and things given to you. Forget about money, property and prestige, forget about obstinance in people, pray for those who speak and mumble against what you’re doing and pray for the intervention of Grace and Mercy, afforded to you in the language of knowledge given from God.

Proverbs 2:6-9 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.

Chapter 40, The Price of Pettiness, 2026, it costs all for the attacker and the attacked, both children of God, lost from what God had promised. If it be close to you, kneel before the Lord and His protection. Amen.

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
